Homer High School to host Engineering and Manufacturing Day
On Friday, October 26, Homer High School will be hosting its first Engineering and Manufacturing Day. Numerous businesses and colleges will be participating in this two-hour event. The goal for the day is to highlight local and regional career opportunities and educational pathways in the diverse fields of engineering and manufacturing. Students in grades 9 - 12 will have the chance to talk directly to employers about necessary skills needed to obtain a job, and to college admissions reps about relevant courses of study.
The program will run from 8:00 to 10:00, split into two sessions. One session will be a panel-type presentation in the auditorium, and the other will be career/college fair-style in the gymnasium. Students will participate in both 50-minute sessions.
