The District’s Long Range Strategic Planning continues into the new year. Work began last October with the distribution of stakeholder surveys. Surveys were completed by: Students, staff, community and parents. Feedback was compiled from the 1,526 surveys that were completed.
The Strategic Planning Core Team met twice prior to the holidays. The committee consists of five parents, nine staff members with representation from all buildings, and three administrators.
The first meeting was held on November 19th and consisted of a setting of norms, as well as a district documents and stakeholder survey results review. In the December 17th meeting, after much discussion and review of data, three areas of focus were identified. They are: Student/Staff Social-Emotional Health and Wellness, Student Engagement (Instructional) and Community Engagement. Membership of the Task Forces is now being finalized with the next meeting scheduled for January 24th. At that meeting, each Task Force will be brought up to speed as to the previous work of the Core Team, be given their groups charge, and begin planning for and organizing their work. If you are interested in finding out how you might take part in a Task Force, please contact the Superintendent’s office at 607-749-7241, extension 5022.
The end product of this year long process will be the development of a five-year strategic plan beginning with the 2019-20 school year. The plan will be used to inform district decision making in all facets of the organization as we move forward.
