Homer Schools and Community Get Sneak Preview of "On the Town"
Last week, the Homer High School’s production of "On the Town" hit the road, visiting the multiple locales to provide a teaser for the show that ultimately debuted over the weekend.
The crew stopped by the Elementary School, and gave an assembly for the students there. Not only did the performers act out multiple scenes from the musical, but they took time at the end to work with students from the individual classrooms, teaching them finer points of thespianism!
The production also traveled to the Intermediate School, High School, and Walden Place to present songs from the musical, and talk about some of the social issues presented in the show from the context of the time period.
The crew even led the younger students in some song and dance activities! These visits provided a big jolt of energy to stave off any post-break doldrums, and proved to be a wonderful way to start off the week ahead of the weekend’s big show(s).
