Eight Homer Students Receive Healthy Student Award
Eight Homer students recently received the Healthy and Physically Active Student Award from the New York State Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
Students were selected to receive the award based on several criteria, including exhibiting a physically active lifestyle both during and outside school, demonstrating responsible personal and social behavior, demonstrating leadership, serving as a positive influence on peers, contributing to their total school program, and demonstrating and valuing a healthy lifestyle and lifelong learning.
The Homer students who were recognized include: Elementary: Miles Franco and Lydia Gross Intermediate: Ty Calabro and Caroline Greenman Junior High: Sam Sorenson and Riley Johnson High School: Jed Brazo and Isabella Wallace
Award winners received a certificate and a T-shirt and will be recognized on the field during the Binghamton Rumble Ponies game June 2.
