Homer Students learn about Apprenticeship Opportunities
A select group of juniors and seniors at Homer High School were recently given the opportunity to learn about several apprenticeship programs in the Central New York region.
Representatives from various unions spoke to the students about lucrative careers in these fields. After graduation, interested 18-year-olds can begin earning good pay and benefits while being trained by experienced professionals.
Many apprenticeship openings are available in these fields and more, with jobs in all parts of the world. Presenters included: Local 43 IBEW Electricians Union, Manufacturing Association of CNY, Cortland Career Works, Workforce Development Institute, Ironworkers Union, and National Grid Linemen's Union.
