H1N1 and Seasonal Flu Vaccine Clinics

CCHD will be holding two free flu vaccine clinics. H1N1 and Seasonal flu vaccines will be available. The clinic is for age 3 and older only.

When: Fri. Jan. 22 from 4:30 - 6:30 PM

Sat. Jan. 23 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM

Where: County Office Building Basement Room B - 16

No appointment is necessary.

H1N1 Public Clinic

We will be having a public clinic on Monday 12/21 from 2-5pm in room B-16 (cafeteria) of the Cortland County Office Bldg. This will be open to all over the age of 3yrs. It is by appointment so we are asking that the public call to make appointments. We have a line set-up for appointments. The number is 753-5111. If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

Homer Elementary School Healthy Steps Program

This year as a part of the Elementary school's regular walking program we added a Healthy Steps component. The Healthy Steps program was a 10 day span of time in October where students and their familes could record all the walking they did both at school and at home. Family walking logs were sent home for familes to record all the miles they were walking. We have calculated the totals for the family walking logs and students walking cards at school and have found that as a school we walked 1,533 miles!! We have sent our totals into the Healthy Steps database and are waiting to hear how we did compared to other schools our size. We will keep you updated and in the mean time keep up the walking!

4th Annual Imagination Celebration

Be sure to check out this years 4th Annual "Imagaination Celebration" hosted once again by the Center 4 the Arts in Homer. Cortland County, grades K-12, art work will be on display Friday, April 3 through Thursday, April 30 with the exception of Wednesday, April 8, which will be an opening for particpating artists and their families only.

The set up of the Fitness Trail behind the Elementary School playground was completed on Tuesday, August 19. No help will be needed on Wednesday and Thursday as previously announced. Thank you very much to all the volunteers who worked on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.
